Las Vegas Police, Eliminating Dirt with these Bikes!

on

Las Vegas Metro Police Department is taking it to the next level. While many states use gas-guzzling Impala’s and large Chevy SUV’s to police the streets, The LVPD runs an extra team of sleek patrols in sets of two on White, black and silver 2015-2016 Yamaha XT250 MX bikes. These are an impressive, thin onslaught of fast bike take downs that has had everyone on their toes. Where many say that “they only patrol the Las Vegas Strip area and downtown”, they are wrong. They have been spotted across the east, west of Las Vegas and even in Henderson.

The Motocross Dirt Bikes are fully equipped with all the necessary tools and setup Regular Police Officers require as far to the extent of the Harley Davidson line of Motorcycles that already exist. We support the Las Vegas Metro Police Department and their efforts on making the city balanced in managing the abuse many drivers take within Las Vegas by running red lights, disregarding right-of-ways and increasing the pedestrian death rate.

Chris is a Criminal Justice Student from Illinois. He currently is a CRJ/EMT-B Major at the local college. His career goal is to work for either the Iowa State Patrol, a Campus PD, Park Ranger, or small town. Among his amazing photo stream collection on Flickr available here: InventorChris. He had a great shot of the Las Vegas Yamaha XT250 up close, to whom his Grandma took pictures of.

We took a close look at these cool dirt bikes and were impressed with more than we expected. Not only did the dirt bikes, as light as they are, come equipped with the cool 5-pod LED Red & Blue arched row of front headlight attachment, but also had accessibility to attach a Travel Coffee Mug! Now that’s pretty awesome. If for any reason you are a biker or just love motorcycles, you will definitely know that having something such as this is a luxury when your dedicated to a “bike life”. Here’s a close-up shot Chris’ Grandma took of the Coffee Travel Mug. Forget Dunkin’ Donuts, were talking Starbucks to go, in Style!

Another style: From the looks of it, it seams like a 2014 Suzuki DRZ400

Here is a set of what most call the “Enduro” on the strip.

Looking at their Set up, these two-toned black and white helmets are pretty sick. Even with their ventilated white visors and inner paddings, they definitely stand out in style as the Metropolitan Las Vegas Police badge contrasts against the white background.

Now you might be laughing, hee-ha-ha, but after 2 hours of research, we looked into what helmet exactly these are and low and behold we found a MATCH! The White Arai VX-Pro3 Helmet valued at around $550 a pop.

But because we love our followers so much, we went ahead and possibly found the fabricator of these custom helmets at: THE MOTORCOP SHOP. (pictures shown above of the original Arai series and the Motorcop Shop two-tone custom helmet.)

The VX-Pro3 features the first Emergency Release Cheek pad design. Integrated pull-tabs allow for easier helmet removal from an injured rider. A total of (13) intake and exhaust vents move a huge amount of air through the interior of the helmet. The new shell shape gives increased upper chin bar / nose area space as well as a more rounded overall chinbar. The interior liner, cheekpads, and chin strap covers are removable, washable, and replaceable. Sizes range from XSm through XXLg, and like all Arai helmets, the VX-Pro3 meets or exceeds current DOT & Snell standards.
